POOL MAINTENANCE
Opening: The best time to open your pool is in early to mid-spring, usually when daytime temperatures consistently reach around 65°F (21°C). Opening your pool early helps prevent algae growth, makes cleanup easier, and gets you swimming sooner! Even if you're not ready to use it, running the system early keeps the water clear and equipment in good shape.
Closing: You should close your pool in late fall, typically when the water temperature drops below 65°F (18°C). Waiting too long can risk algae growth or freeze damage, especially in colder months. Since we live in a milder area, you might keep your pool open year-round with proper maintenance, which is ideal. Moving water is good healthy water and this will prevent freezing.
Need help with your pool opening or closing? We offer full seasonal services to make the process stress-free!
We recommend checking your pool chemicals at least once a week—especially during the swimming season. This includes testing chlorine levels, pH, alkalinity, and stabilizer. Regular testing helps keep your water clean, balanced, and safe for swimming.
If your pool gets heavy use, has a lot of debris, or goes through a weather change (like a big rainstorm or heatwave), you may need to test more frequently—even 2–3 times a week.
Our service plans include weekly water testing and chemical balancing, so you never have to worry about it. We handle it all to keep your pool crystal clear and swim-ready.
Pool liners typically last 8–12 years, but that can vary based on weather, maintenance, and water chemistry. Here are some signs it might be time for a replacement:
Fading or discoloration: UV rays and chemicals wear down the liner over time, causing it to lose its color.
Wrinkles or stretching: A loose or wrinkled liner can mean it's losing its elasticity or shrinking from age.
Tears, cracks, or leaks: Small holes can sometimes be patched, but widespread damage usually means replacement.
Water loss: If you're constantly adding water and can't find the leak, the liner may be compromised.
Brittleness or stiffness: Older liners become less flexible and more prone to cracking, especially in colder temperatures.
If you're unsure, we can inspect your liner and let you know whether a repair or full replacement is the best option.
